Nick Novak Discusses Wisconsin Economy with La Crosse’s WKBT-TV

LA CROSSE – Wisconsin may have a rough 2023, at least economically. According to the Wisconsin Employer Survey, 85% of businesses are struggling to hire new employees.

The survey, conducted by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC), includes a number of responses that point towards a possible recession. There are a number of factors that may have caused the state of the economy, namely a major workforce shortage. There aren’t enough people to fill the demand for jobs.

The vice president of communications and marketing at WMC says it’s important to retain Wisconsinites and bring in new residents.

“We need to find ways to make Wisconsin more competitive and more attractive so that people will move into Wisconsin for the great job opportunities we have all across Wisconsin,” said Nick Novak.
